Lancashire v Glamorgan RLODC: Head-to-Head

17 Aug 2015 | Matches
Glamorgan play their final group match in the Royal London One-Day Cup against the Lancashire Lightning on Wednesday, August 19th starting at 2pm at The Emirates Old Trafford
Lancashire start the contest in fifth place and, as one of four clubs on seven points, they still harbour ambitions of a quarter-final berth in the 50 overs competition. In contrast, Glamorgan are in eighth place in the table, without any hope of reaching the last eight. After their eight-wicket defeat against Middlesex at Lord's on Monday afternoon, the Welsh county travel to the north-west looking to end their one-day season on a positive note with a performance which will help to erase the memories of August 2014 when they lost their rain-affected Twenty20 quarter-final at Manchester by just one run.

Jordan Clark was the unexpected hero of last year's Twenty20 contest at the Old Trafford ground, with the all-rounder claiming 4/22 as the Red Rose country surged back into the contest they had appeared to have lost and to dispel Welsh dreams of a place at Twenty20 Finals Day.

Glamorgan were victorious the last time the two sides met in a List A match at the Manchester ground as an unbeaten 110 from Gareth Rees plus 3/24 by Will Owen saw Glamorgan clinch victory under the Duckworth-Lewis Method by 29 runs.

The previous year the late Tom Maynard had scored an unbeaten 103 when the two sides met at Old Trafford, but on that day in May 2010, his efforts were trumped by Ashwell Prince who made a regal century and together with an unbeaten 84 by Steven Croft, they saw Lancashire to a seven-wicket victory.
