One change to squad for Lancashire match

Head coach Matt Maynard has named a 13-man squad for Glamorgan’s LV= Insurance County Championship match against Lancashire at Sophia Gardens tomorrow (Thursday).

There is one change to the squad that picked up a draw in the heavily rain affected match against Kent with Lukas Carey returning from a shin injury to replace Timm van der Gugten who has been called up for international duty by The Netherlands.

Glamorgan are on the back of a rest week and after results from the previous round now sit in fourth place in Group Three on 80 points.

View from the camp: Chris Cooke

"We're obviously very excited to have the Welsh public coming tomorrow. We've been playing some good stuff and it will be nice from them to see the brand of cricket we've been playing live.

"It makes a difference having supporters in and hopefully the pilot goes well and we can have a few more in for the Vitality Blast.

"Lancashire are top of the group for a reason and they're a very good unit but we played well against them up there and went toe-to-toe with them for a few days I thought and it will be another good test."

Injury Update:

Lukas Carey has returned from injury and is in the squad to face Lancashire, while Ruaidhri Smith and Jamie McIlroy are also now fit and are back in 2nd team action.

Head-To-Head – Glamorgan v Lancashire

This will be Lancashire’s seventh visit to Sophia Gardens for a Championship match and their first since 1996 when an imperious 214 by Matthew Maynard saw Glamorgan to a mammoth total of 505 and underpinned a 48-run victory for Glamorgan with spin-twins Robert Croft claiming 5/47 and Dean Cosker 4/60 on the final day.
