Head coach Matt Maynard has named an unchanged 14-man squad for our next home Vitality Blast fixture against Middlesex. 

Glamorgan welcome the London-based outfit to Sophia Gardens tomorrow evening (21June) on the back of a four-wicket win over the Sussex Sharks which kept their hopes of a quarter-final alive. 

The Glamorgan bowlers will look to maintain their current good form, with Prem Sisodiya only conceding 12 runs off his allotted four overs, and seamer Michael Neser showing his class with figures of 3-24 against the south coast county. 

A typically belligerent Colin Ingram half-century put the Welsh county within touching distance of the target of 150, before James Weighell smashed his first ball on top of the indoor school to seal a well-needed victory, ahead of another must-win clash against Middlesex. 

Pathway product Alex Horton will retain the gloves as Chris Cooke remains unavailable with a calf problem.  

The 18-year-old had an impressive first outing behind the stumps in front of his home crowd, recording his first dismissal for the club, smartly stumping Harrison Ward off the bowling of Andrew Salter. 

Glamorgan currently sit sixth in the Vitality Blast South group, one place above Middlesex due to a superior run rate. A win tomorrow could see either team move into the top four and into a quarter-final spot.

It was great to bounce back with a win last night when we really needed one. It was one of our better performances so far this season and I was extremely proud of the way the boys went about things all afternoon 

The bowlers were exceptional from the start. Our spinners have been great all year and I think that reflected in their eight overs only going for 42 runs, that really put us ahead in the game on a really good wicket. 

Then the way Neser bowled was fantastic, he moved the ball around and he bowled pretty quickly and was a handful on that wicket. And what more is there to say about Colin! He has played so many innings like that for us it’s hard to keep count. 

Great for Dan and Weighelly to get us over the line after we lost a few quick wickets, but that win keeps us in the tournament and we hope to replicate that performance going into our final two home games. 

Middlesex are a tough team but if we bowl like we did against Sussex Sharks and continue to put partnerships together, I’m confident we can continue to climb the table.

Middlesex defeated Glamorgan a month ago at Radlett but, as the list below shows of their recent meeting at Cardiff, the Welsh county have a decent record at their home ground against the Londoners in T20 cricket, including the match last summer at Sophia Gardens when they were victorious by 21 runs thanks to a typically vibrant 75 by Colin Ingram, whilst Timm van der Gugten and Dan Douthwaite shared four wickets between them.
