Metro Bank One Day Cup Semi-Final Squad Announcement

Glamorgan selectors have announced a 14-man squad for the home Metro Bank One Day Cup Semi-Final against Warwickshire this Sunday at Sophia Gardens.

After ending the group stage on a high with a win against Yorkshire Vikings by 62 runs and losing just one of eight matches in Group B, Glamorgan finished on top of the group, ahead of Leicestershire Foxes and Warwickshire who finished second and third, respectively, guaranteeing Glamorgan a home Semi-Final and an additional day of rest, avoiding a Quarter-Final round.

The squad had a training session on Friday afternoon, followed by an optional session on Saturday morning, before they will take the field on Sunday in an attempt to make the Final at Trent Bridge on 22 September.

Alex Horton and Tom Norton are out with injuries alongside Eddie Byrom, Zain ul Hassan, James Harris and Chris Cooke.

The squad is as follows:

05/ Kiran Carlson (c)
13/ Tom Bevan
88/ Dan Douthwaite
11/ Andy Gorvin
06/ Henry Hurle
41/ Colin Ingram
08/ Ben Kellaway
35/ Jamie McIlroy
18/ Ben Morris
16/ Sam Northeast
07/ Billy Root
55/ Asa Tribe
28/ Will Smale
64/ Timm van der Gugten

View from the Camp – Head Coach Grant Bradburn:

“There’s a real excitement in the squad as we look forward to a home Semi-Final on Sunday. With the forecast looking good, we would love to see our Glammy supporters out in force.

“A signature of the campaign so far is the joy of seeing different players stepping forward each game to make winning impacts. The players are becoming comfortable and familiar with our winning brand and the roles within, while we feel that we have a very well-balanced side.

"I sense a nice determination from the players to release full skills, enjoying and attacking this opportunity that the players have very much deserved. We know as a team that we are growing with each game together and I certainly feel the best is yet to come.”
