Glamorgan will look to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Surrey last night when they face Middlesex at Radlett Cricket Club in the Vitality Blast tomorrow. 

Surrey chased down a total of 173 with one ball to spare last night despite Sam Northeast striking a second consecutive T20 half-century for the Welsh county. 

Seamer Michael Hogan was also in fine form as he recorded his second five-fer in the format, and in the process became the Welsh county’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20 cricket. His 5/18 saw him overtake Dean Cosker in the wicket-taker charts with 102.  

Head coach Matt Maynard has once again named an unchanged 14-man squad for the fixture against Middlesex with Glamorgan recording one win and one loss from their two Vitality Blast fixtures so far.

“It would be a nice start to win two of our first three. Middlesex have had a good start with wins the last two days so it will be a challenge.” 

“They have scored a lot of runs there already, it will be a tough opposition, and we will assess that when we get to Radlett.” 

“It was an honour to break the record last night but would have loved for it to have been on the winning side, so here is hoping I take another against Middlesex tomorrow, and we come home with two great wins to start the campaign.”

This will be the second time that Glamorgan have played a T20 match at the pretty tree-lined ground, having played last year at The Brunton Memorial Ground, which is close to the homes of several celebrities including Simon Cowell, the reality TV judge and producer.  

Despite some lusty hitting by Dan Douthwaite and James Weighell, it was Middlesex however who had the X Factor in 2021 with Stevie Eskinazi scoring an unbeaten 91 to see Middlesex home by seven wickets.
