Some of the biggest names in cricket will be in action when Pakistan and Australia come to Sophia Gardens for exciting IT20s against England next summer.
Pakistan will be the first to visit the Welsh capital on Tuesday, 28th May, and Pakistani fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who had a taste of playing in Cardiff during his stint with Welsh Fire this year, is very excited to return wearing the green of his country next summer.
Afridi said: “I have honestly really enjoyed Cardiff; we have had some good memories here when we have played for Pakistan as well.
“The crowd is always amazing throughout the games; it is always full and we love playing in Cardiff.
“It felt like we were playing in Lahore at times during The Hundred, with so many Pakistani fans coming to support us.
“We know that International cricket is totally different, and we cannot wait to come back to Sophia Gardens with Pakistan next year and play in front of a full crowd again!”
The exciting summer of cricket at Sophia Gardens will also see cricket's greatest rivalry come to Wales, as Australia return to Cardiff for the first time since 2018 on Friday, 13th September.
Former Australia International and 2023 Welsh Fire Head Coach, Mike Hussey, has fond memories of Cardiff.
He said: ‘‘The rivalry will always be there! If it is Australia vs England, it will always be there no matter what.
“It will be a great occasion and I'm sure there will be a big crowd as well.
“Two great teams going at it in an exciting format of the game. I wouldn’t want to miss it for anything.”
Both games start at 6.30pm and tickets are available from £35 for adults and £12 for U17s HERE.
