Glamorgan County Cricket Club can today confirm that Sophia Gardens will be hosting two exciting Internationals in 2025.
West Indies will return to UK shores for a Metro Bank One Day International against England Men on Sunday, 1 June in what promises to be a thrilling game at the home of Welsh cricket. This will be the first time the West Indies have headed to England and Wales for a white-ball series since 2017.
T20 World Cup Finalists, South Africa, return to Cardiff in Vitality IT20 action against England Men on Wednesday, 10 September. The Proteas last played at Sophia Gardens in 2022 in front of a sold-out crowd.
After a change to the England Men’s white-ball coaching staff, the fans can expect some exciting cricket ahead of the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, and the 2027 Men's ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The star-studded limited-overs International summer of cricket at Sophia Gardens is set to catch the attention of fans from South Wales and beyond.
Dan Cherry, Chief Executive Officer at Glamorgan Cricket, said:
“We always look forward to announcing our International fixtures each year and are proud to be hosting South Africa and West Indies in 2025.
“It will be fantastic to welcome the West Indies back to Sophia Gardens after 8 years and will allow us to continue our excellent relationship which strengthened in the 1990s due to the great Viv Richards representing Glamorgan with great distinction.
“South Africa have a team full of exciting white ball players and we have hosted a number of enthralling matches between these teams over recent years.
"We look forward to another great spectacle and a full stadium next September.”
