It\'s a top of the table tussle in Cardiff this Friday, with Glamorgan facing Surrey. There\'s plenty of star power on both teams but here are the five key things we\'ve picked to look out for when these sides clash:
1. #Kingram
He may have been slightly overshadowed by his compatriot David Miller in Bristol but Ingram is still the one to watch in the Glamorgan side having already struck two centuries in this year’s NatWest T20 Blast. He was also fantastic with the ball against Gloucestershire, picking up 1/18 from his four overs and will be a key part of captain Rudolph’s bowling plans this Friday.
2. Surrey’s Top 4
Roy, Finch, Sangakkara and KP – not a bad top four for an international team, let alone a county. They all go about their innings differently, from the brute force of Finch to the subtle flick of the wrists of Sangakkara, but each is a proven match-winner on their day.
3. Pace
There will be plenty of fireworks from the batsmen on show but, let’s not forget the bowling firepower too. Marchant de Lange bowled beautifully against Gloucestershire, hitting 90 mph, while Surrey will still be having nightmares about Timm van der Gugten’s spell at the Oval last year where he took 4-14 from his four overs.
Surrey have their own fast bowlers to look out for in England internationals Stuart Meaker, Jade Dernbach and Tom Curran who are all capable of bowling in the high 80s.
4. #MillerTime
When he eventually made it on the field after his first match was abandoned against Essex Eagles, David Miller could not have wished for a better start to his short stint with Glamorgan: a half century and huge sixes into the pavilion. He was the catalyst behind the Welsh County’s win against their local rivals Gloucestershire and Glamorgan will be looking for a repeat performance Friday’s opposition.
5. The weather
Let’s hope the wet stuff stays away so we can watch the stars in action, in what will be a cracker at The SSE SWALEC.
