A Call to SWALEC for Glamorgan Fans

16 Jun 2014 | Cricket
Glamorgan play Surrey in the next NatWest T20 Blast fixture at the SWALEC Stadium on Friday 20th June and ticket prices have been frozen at the advance rate of £15 until 5pm on Thursday, giving supporters a better opportunity than ever to get hold of discounted tickets.
The game, which starts at 6.30pm, will mark Kevin Pietersen's return to the SWALEC Stadium in what is likely to be an extremely competitive match.

The Welsh county is currently sitting in third in the hotly contested South Pool after six matches, including two highly entertaining home games, where the result came down to the final ball. Surrey, who are fifth in the group will be likely to come out fighting on Friday night.

Glamorgan T20 Blast Captain, Jim Allenby, said: Friday's match against Surrey is huge for us, they are a big club with some big names in their line-up and we're especially looking forward to welcoming the likes of KP and Amla. However, we have a lot of quality players too and a home win would put us in a strong position as we reach the half way stage in the tournament.

We've had some good results already with victories over Somerset, Hampshire and Sussex and the two home games we've played have been great for the spectators with lots of big hitting and exciting finishes. I am confident that we can go on to have a successful season this year.

As players we would love to see more people supporting the team at the ground and when better than the box office draw of Surrey this Friday? Having a strong crowd cheering us on really does make the difference.

When the SWALEC Stadium is full, the buzz is like no other, the Welsh crowds are absolutely magnificent. They are so enthusiastic about the game and really get involved by signing songs and cheering us on which gives us a huge boost as players.

It is great that the club is making such a big effort to attract better crowds for us to play in front of. Signing Darren Sammy and then reducing the price for this game will hopefully entice supporters to come along in large numbers and really get behind the team.

Match tickets are now available priced £15 for adults and £5 for juniors. Call 02920 419 311 during office hours or online at www.glamorgancricket.com/tickets
