The club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday night (25th March).

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the AGM was hosted over Zoom with over 100 members joining the online meeting.

For those who were unable to attend, here is breakdown of the key points covered:

  *   Acknowledgement that 2020 was a challenging year due to Covid19 outbreak and club turnover reduced from £8.3 million to £4.7 million with operating loss of £279,000, however, given the lack of many of the club's expected sources of income, this can be considered a reasonable outcome for a difficult year

  *   The club has offered the Welsh Government opportunities to stage pilot events for the return of crowds to Welsh sport.

  *   Work is underway to refurbish steelwork in stands at Sophia Gardens using an ECB maintenance grant.

  *   The Welsh county is exploring the potential of creating a regional centre of excellence in west Wales to develop local talent and grow the game in the region.

  *   The club remains committed to developing women's and girls' cricket through the restructured pathway and the Western Storm programme.

  *   Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie joins as early season cover for Marnus Labuschagne who, along with Michael Neser, has been delayed due to the extension of the Australian domestic season.

  *   The club said goodbye to six members of the squad during the winter. Graham Wagg, Marchant de Lange, Kieran Bull, Connor Brown and Owen Morgan were released, while Craig Meschede was forced to retire through injury.

  *   A number of key players have signed contract extensions, including club captain Chris Cooke and 17-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Alex Horton.

  *   Mr. Gerard Elias CBE QC was confirmed as the club’s President.
