ICC Cricket World Cup winners Australia have named their squad for the upcoming One-Day International Series and the International T20 in Cardiff, which has a fresh look to it with seven new players selected to face England.
Steve Smith has been officially crowned as Australia's next one-day international captain and will lead a squad featuring seven new faces for the limited-overs matches on the Qantas Tour of the British Isles.
Smith will be without World Cup stars Mitchell Johnson and Josh Hazlewood, who have both been rested following the Ashes series defeat, all-rounder James Faulkner and opening batsman Aaron Finch, who is still recovering from a foot injury picked up playing county cricket in the UK.
Batsman Joe Burns is in line to make his one-day debut, added to the squad after blistering form on the Australia A tour in India where he last week smashed 14 sixes in posting 154 from just 131 balls in Chennai, whilst there is a return for Ashton Agar meaning Nathan Lyon misses out and Cameron Boyce is also included for the T20I only.
Australia squad: Steve Smith (c), Ashton Agar, George Bailey, Joe Burns, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Patrick Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Shane Watson, David Warner, Cameron Boyce.
