Glamorgan 2nd XI shared the spoils with their Somerset counterparts in their 2nd XI Championship match at Newport Cricket Club after an impressive batting display in which the hosts declared in both their innings.
The Welsh County won the toss and elected to bat on the first day and were vindicated in their decision. Jeremy Lawlor (134) and Tom Cullen (98) the pick of the bunch with the bat before Glamorgan eventually declared on 403/5. Lawlor's performance saw him being called up to the Glamorgan first team squad for their Royal London One-Day Cup match with Kent today.
In reply, visitors Somerset produced a strong batting performance of their own with opening batsmen - Byrom and Green, both posting centuries before declaring on 322/4.
On the third and final day and with time of the essence, Glamorgan once again declared on 252/4 with Connor Brown scoring a century of his own and Jack Murphy adding 83 runs as he continues his fine form with the bat this year.
Prem Sisodiya took three wickets for Glamorgan in Somerset's final innings, finishing with figures of 3/32. The visitors however, batted out the final day and left South Wales with a draw.
