Stuart Broad says England will be gunning for revenge when they take on Sri Lanka this summer.
Sri Lanka won their first Test series in England when they last toured these shores in 2014, securing a dramatic victory at Headingley when James Anderson was dismissed from the penultimate ball.
That means Sri Lanka and Pakistan, who also tour England this year, are the only Test sides to win their latest series against Alastair Cook's side.
But with England heading back to Leeds for the first Test which starts a week today, Broad is ready to right the wrongs and wants England to hold all nine Test match trophies at once, with series wins over both Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
"There is a bit of revenge to be had," Broad said.
"It's a great motivation for us as a team that we have seven out of nine Test match trophies but Sri Lanka and Pakistan are the two we don't have.
"I played in the Test matches at the start of 2014 and that was a tough time to play. It was quite an emotional series, it really hurt us as a team to lose in our own conditions.
"We know when we play Sri Lanka they play with a lot of pride and passion, they're always in the battle and they beat us in that battle last time."
Hampshire batsman James Vince and Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball, both uncapped, were named in England's Test squad last week and could feature at Leeds this Thursday.
Ball has been rewarded for his form for Notts, for whom he has taken 19 Specsavers County Championship Division One wickets this season, and county team-mate Broad believes he is ready to make the step up.
"Jake is a player I've seen a lot of in the last three or four years, he's developed so quickly in the last 18 months," Broad said.
"He's tall, he's got good pace. He's a guy that takes big wickets. He gets top-order batsmen out. I know he's delighted with the call-up and it's reward for good county season form.
"He played in the County Championship last week and was the best bowler on show. It's a good sign when players perform well on TV against good players. The selectors have done well to pick a guy in form."
England's Test series against Sri Lanka is followed by the Royal London ODI series which concludes at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff on July 2. Tickets available here.
