All-rounder Callum Taylor will leave the club at the end of his current contract and look for opportunities elsewhere.

Taylor, born in Newport and raised in Australia, made his Glamorgan debut in 2019 when he appeared in a no-result Vitality Blast clash against Essex Eagles at Sophia Gardens.

The 25-year-old went on to make 34 first-team appearances for the Welsh county across all formats.

He became only the fourth Glamorgan player to score a century on their first-class debut when he smashed an 88-ball ton against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road in 2020, finishing on 106 from 94 balls, and reaching his century with a six.

In 2023, Taylor took on the responsibility of captaincy of the second eleven. Leading the side to Finals Day in the T20 competition and scored an unbeaten 41 as Glamorgan were narrowly defeated by 5 runs against Derbyshire.

On leaving the Club, Taylor said: "Glamorgan gave me my first opportunity to be a professional cricketer, an experience I am truly grateful for.

“My career has come to a crossroads and I feel to further my development as a cricketer, I need to look for a fresh challenge back in my adopted home, Australia.

“It has been on my mind for the last two years due to a lack of first-team game time, but I have gained experience in the County game, and I have appreciated the support from the Glamorgan faithful, and the friendships I have made with teammates.

“As much as this isn’t the way I envisioned my Glamorgan journey ending, when opportunities were presented in Australia, it was too hard to turn down”.

Director of Cricket Mark Wallace added: “Callum worked his way from league cricket into the professional game and can take great pride in what he has achieved at the club.

“With other players emerging this is the right time for Callum to seek to further his career elsewhere and we thank him for his contributions to the club on and off the field during his time here.

"We would like to wish Callum all the best for his future endeavours wherever in the world they may be."
