Club Watch - Wales Club Cricket Weekend 2

As the 2nd weekend of club cricket across Wales commenced on Saturday 10 May, many Glamorgan contracted players represented their allocated clubs. The women's club cricket season officially started on Sunday 11 May, as the 6-team South Wales Women's Premier Cricket League  

Tom Bevan had a successful outing for Ammanford CC, as the south-west Walian club beat their regional counterparts Pontarddulais CC in a close game. The Cardiff-born all-rounder picked up 4 wickets to restrict Pontarddulais to 175, and followed it up with a 50 in a low-scoring game, as Ammanford chased the total with only 2 wickets remaining. 

Eddie Byrom too had a decent run-in at a Avenue Road for newly-promoted Abergavenny CC lost to Newport CC in another thrilling affair. Batting first, Newport registered 247 runs in their 50 overs, with former Glamorgan Academy all-rounder Mujeid Ilyas top-scoring with 70*. In reply, Abergavenny came close to the total and only lost by 3 runs, with Eddie Byrom scoring 44 runs and Glamorgan 2nd XI's Tom Norton getting 60 runs. 

Lydia Clements played for Radyr CC on Sunday in their women's South Wales Premier League season-opener against Pembroke CC, and was the star performer of the match, scoring 78 runs and taking 3 wickets. Megan Janczeski took the field for The Panchers CC anf picked up two wickets in their narrow defeat to Cardiff CC.
