The 15th weekend of premier club cricket in Wales saw the sun shining and runs flowing in the North and South Wales Premier Cricket Leagues.
Newport CC and St. Fagans CC continued their winning run for the ultimate showdown on Saturday 30 August, where the two sides meet at Spytty Park in a winner-takes-all match. Glamorgan 2nd XI and Wales National County's Harry Friend's hundred, followed by former Glamorgan player Dean Cosker's 3-fer gave Newport CC a comfortable 78-run win over Bridgend Town CC. Former Glamorgan batter Jeremy Lawlor's 88, along with 2021 One-Day Cup winner with Glamorgan Steven Reingold, who picked up 4 wickets, gave St. Fagans a massive 173-run win over Abergavenny CC.
Cardiff CC beat Ammanford CC by 36 runs to get out of the relegation spot, while Pontarddulais CC dominated against Ynystawe CC, winning by a whopping 270 runs, as Wales National County's captain Cam Herring scored a brilliant 161 not out. Usk CC beat Swansea CC by 61 runs, with former Qatar international Tamoor Zafar scoring a century.
Up in the North Wales Premier League, Brymbo CC chased the target of 192 set by Bethesda CC with ease, while Bangor CC beat Denbigh CC to stay within touching distance of the league leaders Brymbo CC. Here are the brief scores from both premier leagues in Wales:
