Club Watch - Wales Premier Club Cricket Weekend 5

4 Jun 2025 | Cricket

A fifth weekend of club cricket fixtures across Wales saw some impressive performances from Glamorgan players in their allocated clubs, along with some major changes in the table, particularly the South Wales Premier.

Zain ul Hassan, who became Sam Northeast’s go-to back-up bowler in the Rothesay County Championship, picked up two wickets in a highly economical spell. Salman Saeed’s 7 wickets for Newport CC helped the Spytty Park side beat Ammanford CC by 8 wickets to go up to second in the table.

Ben Morris picked up 3 wickets for only 18 runs in his 7-over spell for Abergavenny CC against his former club Pontarddulais CC, albeit in a losing cause. Callum Nicholls got off to a good start for St. Fagans CC, scoring 37 runs against local rivals Cardiff CC, with significant contributions from former Glamorgan players Jeremy Lawlor and Owen Morgan, as St. Fagans CC beat Cardiff CC to go up the top of the league.

Billy Root impressed in Usk CC’s win over Bridgend Town CC, but with the ball, as the batting all-rounder picked up two wickets for only 32 ruins in a 9-over opening spell.
