Club Watch - Wales Premier Club Cricket Weekend 6

10 Jun 2025 | Cricket

The sixth weekend of premier club cricket in Wales brought rain, gloom and called-off matches, as most clubs couldn't get a fixture on for the first time since the season began over a month ago.

From the five South Wales Premier League games scheduled to play on Saturday, only one managed to get a result, as Usk CC beat Swansea CC by 3 wickets through the DLS method. Usk CC won their game against Swansea CC off the last ball, running two runs in byes needing two to win in the final ball. Billy Root scored 43 for the hosts, but it was Ben Jones's 5-wicket haul that won the game for the Monmouthshire side. Swansea CC's Mo Aazim was the best performer of the match, albeit in a losing cause. The left-arm spinner picked up 4 wickets, and scores 33 runs in a low-scoring match.

Abergavenny CC played hosts to defending champions St. Fagans CC, who got off a flyer in the game at Avenue Road. However, continuous showers meant that the match had to be abandoned. Glamorgan Men's newest signing Callum Nicholls remained not out on 93 off 105 balls, stitching together a 191-run partnership with former Glamorgan player Steven Reingold, who also remained not out, on 89.

There were no matches scheduled for the South Wales Women's Premier League, however Anna-Mae Shearn had a decent outing for Devizes CC in the West of England Premier League, recording a spell of 2-14 in 4 overs.
