Cooke Injury Update

Captain Chris Cooke is likely to miss the rest of the match against Gloucestershire after suffering an ankle injury while batting.

Cooke sustained the injury turning for a second run and was forced to retire hurt on 23. He was helped off the field by Glamorgan's medical team.

The severity of the injury is currently being assessed with Cooke to undertake an x-ray and scan over the next few days.

Vice-captain David Lloyd will take over the captaincy and Tom Cullen will be released from the second team to take over wicket-keeping duties.

Head coach Matt Maynard, said: "There is quite a lot of swelling at the moment and we can't get a scan until then, so hopefully it will be down soon and we get get it scanned on either Friday or Saturday.

"In the mean time he'll probably have an X-ray to make sure there's no bone damage."
