Cooke optimistic ahead of Surrey showdown

After Glamorgan's 4th straight victory in the LV=County Championship Division 2, the first time the team have achieved this since 2004, Chris Cooke was unsurprisingly delighted at the run the team are on.
Cooke has urged his teammates to continue their form into the second half of the season starting with Surrey tonight in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Yeah it's fantastic, there is a great mood in the camp at the moment, the boys are really buzzing and that winning habit is something to behold and when you've got it you want to try and hang onto it so it's great.

We have played Surrey twice now and we have beaten them twice so we are pretty confident against them. That first game was the pinnacle of our T20 season so far so if we can get back to anywhere near that performance that would be great.

Cooke acknowledged the importance of tonight's match with Glamorgan winning 4 and losing 4 in this year's tournament so far.

It's not the same pitch as the Oval and the conditions are a bit different, it's not going to be a 220 vs 240 pitch but I think the boys are really confident at the moment, we've played 8 won 4 lost 4 so it's a big game for us so we will be up for it.

It's normally down to the management team to worry about the tables and how many wins we need and things like that, as players we just focus on training hard and when we get our chance in the middle try and perform. There's 6 games left so if we can win 3 or 4 of those games we will probably be in a playoff position
