Head Coach Robert Croft said he saw \'encouraging signs\' in Glamorgan\'s 10-wicket defeat to Leicestershire.
Croft, speaking to the media following the loss, admitted Glamorgan were not at their best, but pledged to try and turnaround the Welsh county's fortunes ahead of Sunday's clash with Derbyshire at Derby in the Specsavers County Championship.
He said a fit and firing Glamorgan team would be a match for any side in Division Two.
“We know that when we start improving we’ll be a match for a lot of teams," said Croft.
"I think it was quite clear that we were below the standard we’ve set ourselves in pretty much every department. We pride ourselves on our accuracy, resilience and consistency.
"We had opportunities to win the game, which is an encouraging sign moving forward and gives us hope."
Highlights of the match from a Glamorgan perspective included Aneurin Donald's second innings half-century, as well as first innings fifties from Chris Cooke, Will Bragg, David Lloyd and Graham Wagg.
And Croft was dertmined take the positives out of the defeat and move on to the next match.
He added: "We’re aware of the areas where we weren’t up to standard and we need to ensure we work hard to get back to those levels.
“You can’t think about losing a game, you have to very quick think about how to improve get better. It’s only one game and I’m focussing on turning round those standards."
