Young spinners Owen Morgan and Andrew Salter will be vying for inclusion in a Glamorgan side to take on Hampshire at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton tomorrow night – while promising batsman Kiran Carlson is also included in the squad.
Glamorgan Head Coach Robert Croft has named a 13-man squad for the trip, with the Welsh county missing Chris Cooke and Dean Cosker through injury for the match against bottom-placed side Hampshire, starting at 7pm.
A victory would send Glamorgan back to the summit of the NatWest T20 Blast South Group and could seal quarter-final qualification for the Welsh county, if results on Friday night unfold favourably.
Croft was keen for his side to put Sunday's defeat to Gloucestershire behind them and focus on the job in hand, as Glamorgan try and regain top spot.
He reflected on a good T20 campaign for Glamorgan so far, but admitted the Welsh county hadn't yet acheived their goal of securing a quarter-final place.
He said: "We're pleased with the way we've gone about our business. We're very grateful for what we've acheived so far (in T20 cricket), but it doesn't man a whole heap until we finish off the job.
"We know the challenges ahead of us and we'll attack each game in isolation. If we move in the right direction, the results will take care of themselves."
Croft believed the Hampshire game would provide a big challenge, despite the home side sitting bottom of the T20 South Group, with just one win from 10 matches fo far.
"We treat every team with the same amount of respect and focus ourselves in getting a good foot in the game early on," added Croft.
Hampshire have named a 13-man squad for the match. They are without England's James Vince (away on Test duty), as well as Michael Carberry, Mason Crane and Gareth Berg, while Darren Sammy – who featured in Glamorgan's win over Hampshire in Cardiff earlier in the campaign – is away playing in the Caribbean Premier League.
Glamorgan squad: Mark Wallace, David Lloyd, Colin Ingram, Jacques Rudolph (capt.), Aneurin Donald, Graham Wagg, Craig Meschede, Andrew Salter, Timm van der Gugten, Michael Hogan, Shaun Tait, Owen Morgan, Kiran Carlson.
Hampshire squad: Joe Weatherley, Adam Wheater, Tom Alsop, Sean Ervine (capt.), Liam Dawson, Lewis McManus, Shahid Afridi, Brad Taylor, Gareth Andrew, Gavin Griffiths, Brad Wheal, Tino Best, Jake Goodwin.
