In 2024, Douthwaite has been an integral part of the Glamorgan Squad who have been crowned 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup Champions. He has excelled in both batting and bowling departments, and was the overall joint-leading wicket-taker in this year’s competition with 19 wickets and career- best List A bowling figures of 4/25 in the opening victory against Gloucestershire. Dan’s boundary-laden 55* in the Semi-final against Warwickshire at Cardiff also helped to propel Glamorgan to the Cup Final.

Dan signed for Glamorgan in 2019 after impressing with the Cardiff UCCE programme posting his maiden first-class hundred against Sussex for Cardiff students. He finished the season being awarded the Most Promising Player of the Year award at the end of the 2019 season.

In 2021, Douthwaite made his debut for Manchester Originals in The Hundred then secured a spot with the Welsh Fire squad for 2023.

On signing his new deal, Douthwaite said: “I am really excited to commit the next two years of my career to Glamorgan.

“I feel like the Club is heading in the right direction, and we can see ourselves pushing for promotion and regularly making the knockout stages of white-ball cricket in the coming seasons. That is something I’m really excited to be a part of.

"Personally, I feel like I have much more to give with both bat and ball in all formats, and with the support and opportunities I get at the Club, I’m really excited about these next two years. I look forward to seeing where my game ends up and what I can achieve.

"Glamorgan has been a home away from home for me, and since joining in 2019, I’ve only felt more and more included and at home. The offer of staying on for two more years was a no-brainer for me!

"I’m lucky to call a lot of people at the Club friends outside of the cricket bubble, and I’m delighted to be sharing the changing room for two more years with some pretty special people who have given me so much support already in my career."

Glamorgan Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, added: “Dan is a hugely talented all-rounder with a high ceiling to grow into with bat and ball.

“He’s already shown how he can be a match altering player in all formats and we’re delighted that he’ll be remaining at the Club for the foreseeable future.”
