David Harrison has been named as Glamorgan's Head Coach for the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

Harrison has taken charge of the side for the 50-over competition over the last two seasons, including the victorious 2021 campaign which saw the Welsh county win their first trophy in 17 years.

Limited Overs Head Coach, Mark Alleyne and Red Ball Head Coach, Matt Maynard have linked up with Welsh Fire as Assistant Coaches for The Hundred.

Harrison (42) retired from playing for Glamorgan in 2011 to join the coaching staff after taking nearly 400 wickets for the club.

He boasts an impressive record as Head Coach, winning the One Day Cup in 2021 and narrowly missing out on qualification in the competition last year.

Harrison has also been involved with England Lions, joining as a Head Analyst and Coaching Assistant on their winter tours of UAE and India in 2018/19 and Australia in 2020.

On his re-appointment as Head Coach for the One Day Cup, Harrison said, "My mindset is the same as always and that is to try to win games of cricket for Glamorgan.

"We've done well in the competition for the last couple of years and I'm confident that the group of players we have can progress to the Quarter-Finals, but we know we've got a lot of work to do.

"The competition always provides an opportunity for young players to impress and we'll hopefully get to see that again this year. We'll have a good blend of experience and youth with the likes of Colin (Ingram) and Sam (Northeast), and obviously Kiran (Carlson) leading the side, and I'm hopeful that we'll have a good campaign again this year".
