Glamorgan fast-bowler Marchant de Lange has been in action in a new 10-over format and believes it could help spread the game to new audiences and new countries.
The South African paceman played for Bengali Tigers in a trial tournament in the United Arab Emirates, which Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan and Ravi Bopara also took part in.
"It's definitely something I think will take off and spread around the world," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"It's a quick hour and a half and a lot of entertainment. These formats will always annoy traditionalists, but we as cricketers have got to accept all the challenges coming our way.
"I think people will grasp the game quicker, they won't be bored and this could spread cricket in certain countries where they don't have it as one of their main sports."
De Lange took three wickets for 105 runs in eight overs across the tournament.
"You've got to try to execute every single ball; from the word 'go' the batters try to hit you for six every single ball," he explained.
