Durham kept Glamorgan\'s total short of three hundred on day two of their Specsavers County Championship clash at Chester-le-Street, before setting about matching the Welsh county\'s first innings total.
A sixty-six run partnership between Graham Wagg and Marchant de Lange helped steer Glamorgan towards 300 in the morning session, but despite Marchant hitting 37 his best for Glamorgan, McCarthy cleaned up the tail in quick fashion for the hosts.
De Lange then returned with the ball to remove Cook and Steel early on either side of a wicket for Lukas Carey, but a partnership between Collingwood and a career-best for Clark set Durham on their way before De Lange had Clark caught behind for 109.
"We had the mindset of scoring a few more runs, 320 to 350," said De Lange, "but it didn't happen and then with the bowling, we took three quick wickets and then they had a good partnership.
"I don't think we stuck to our guns, meaning what we're capable of with line and length, we lost it a bit but hopefully we can turn it around on a new day."
