Derbyshire v Glamorgan: Head-to-Head in List A cricket at Derby

After their four-wicket defeat at Worcester, Glamorgan travel to Derby for their next match in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup as they meet Derbyshire on Sunday, 6 August in a 50-over competition which is scheduled to get underway at 11.00am (writes Andrew Hignell).

The list below shows the results of the last six games in List A cricket between Glamorgan and Derbyshire.

8 Sept 2008 at Cardiff – Glamorgan won by 50 runs.
26 April 2009 at Derby – Derbyshire won by 4 wickets.
20 May 2009 at Cardiff – Glamorgan won by 5 wickets.
27 Sept 2009 at Derby – Glamorgan won by 5 wickets.
30 July 2021 at Derby – No Result.
2 August 2022 at Derby - Glamorgan won by 8 wickets.

Glamorgan were the victors last summer at Derby, thanks to a match-winning return of 4/41 by Timm van der Gugten before Kiran Carlson blasted a quick-fire fifty to see the Welsh county home to their target with eight wickets in hand.

The Welsh county had won both of their games against Derbyshire n the NatWest Pro40 competition in 2009, with Glamorgan winning at Derby by five wickets as they successfully chased a target of 215 in 40 overs thanks to an unbeaten 69 by Tom Maynard plus 60 from Jim Allenby. Earlier that season, Glamorgan had also been victorious by the same winning margin at Sophia Gardens after a stand of 135 in 28 overs between Jamie Dalrymple and Ben Wright saw the Welsh county home with sixteen balls to spare.

Derbyshire won the Friends Provident Trophy contest in April 2009, with opening batter Dan Redfern posting a half-century to see his team to victory by four wickets after Jamie Dalrymple had made an unbeaten 75 for Glamorgan.

Viv Richards holds the record for the highest score for Glamorgan in List A cricket against Derbyshire with the great West Indian batsman having made an unbeaten 109 at Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd during the Sunday League encounter in 1992. As far as bowling is concerned, Steve Barwick produced the best-ever figures for the Welsh county against the Peakites, claiming 6/28 at Derby during the Sunday League game during 1993.
