Glamorgan meet Derbyshire at Derby in their next contest in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Friday 30 July, with the match scheduled to get underway at 11.00am (writes Andrew Hignell).

It’s the first time for a dozen years that the two sides will have met in a List A game with, as shown by the list below, their most recent contest having taken place at the end of September 2009:

28 May 2003 at Cardiff – Derbyshire won by 7 wickets
16 July 2007 at Derby – Derbyshire won by 7 wickets
8 Sept 2008 at Cardiff – Glamorgan won by 50 runs
26 April 2009 at Derby – Derbyshire won by 4 wickets
20 May 2009 at Cardiff – Glamorgan won by 5 wickets
27 Sept 2009 at Derby – Glamorgan won by 5 wickets

The game at Derby in 2009 saw the Welsh county win by five wickets as they successfully chased a target of 215 in 40 overs thanks to an unbeaten 69 by Tom Maynard plus 60 from Jim Allenby. Earlier that season Glamorgan had also been victorious by the same winning margin at Sophia Gardens after a stand of 135 in 28 overs between Jamie Dalrymple and Ben Wright saw the Welsh county home with sixteen balls to spare.

In all, Glamorgan have met Derbyshire on 48 previous occasions with the Welsh county winning on 16 occasions and losing 28 times. The game at Derby in 1999 was tied, whilst three other games ended up as No Results.

Viv Richards holds the record for the highest score for Glamorgan in List A cricket against Derbyshire with the great West Indian batsman having made an unbeaten 109 at Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd during the Sunday League encounter in 1992. As far as bowling is concerned, Steve Barwick produced the best-ever figures for the Welsh county against the Peakites, with the off-cutter claiming 6/28 at Derby during the Sunday League game during 1993.
