Graham Wagg has been named the 2015 Glamorgan CCC and St Helen's Balconiers Player of the Year after the all-rounder enjoyed his best-ever season with both bat and ball.
Wagg hit 1160 runs in all cricket, including 842 in first-class cricket and claimed 60 wickets in all formats. He was the club's leading all-rounder in the NatWest T20 Blast, scoring 209 runs and claiming 13 wickets. Amongst the highlights was a return of 4/27 against Hampshire, a match-winning 53* against Kent at Tunbridge Wells and an unbeaten 62 before taking 2-17 against Essex Eagles in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Wagg's performances in the LV= County Championship were recognised by his second award of the night when he was named Glamorrgan's Championship Player of the Year.
His career-best 200 helped Glamorgan to defeat Division Two champions Surrey at Guildford and saw Wagg become the first number eight batsman to score a double hundred in Championship cricket since 2000. Furthermore, his tally of eleven sixes also broke the Club record of nine in a Championship innings, set by Malcolm Nash against Gloucestershire at Swansea in 1973, whilst it was the first double-hundred for the Welsh county since 2011 when Alviro Petersen scored 210 against Surrey at The Oval.
Other players earning recognition included Captain Jacques Rudolph who was named Glamorgan T20 Player of the Year after he scored 461 runs in the shortest format, including a career-best 101 against Gloucestershire at Bristol which helped set up a nineteen-run victory.
Jacques also scored three other half-centuries, and led the side with calm assurance and inventiveness.
Colin Ingram marked his first season with the Club by picking up the Royal London One-Day Cup Player of the Year in recognition of his centuries against Kent, Essex Eagles and Middlesex, including a career-best 130 at The SSE SWALEC. Along with his contributions in the NatWest T20 Blast and the LV= County Championship, Colin was the top run scorer for Glamorgan in 2015 with 1712 runs in all formats.
David Lloyd's breakthrough season was rewarded with the Young Player of the Year Award. The young all-rounder has featured regularly in the Welsh county's teams in both one-day and four-day cricket where his campaign was punctuated by a knock of 94 against Northamptonshire.
