Sophia Gardens will once again host England men in a Vitality IT20 when they face South Africa next summer on Thursday, 28th July.
England have a remarkable IT20 record in Cardiff and are undefeated in all eight matches they’ve played at the venue.
The last time South Africa played England in an IT20 in Cardiff was back in 2017 where they were defeated in a thrilling contest in front of a raucous capacity crowd.
Current world number one ranked IT20 batsman, Dawid Malan smashed 78 from just 44 balls on debut, before Chris Jordan took 3/31 as the home side won by 19 runs.
England are the number one ranked IT20 team, while South Africa are one of the powerhouses of the world game and contain some of the world’s best IT20 players in their ranks, including Quinton de Kock, Tabraiz Shamsi and Rassie van der Dussen.
Due to an expected high demand on tickets for this fixture, we are running a public ballot which opens today and runs until 8th October.
