Glamorgan Cricket can confirm that its highly anticipated Vitality IT20 between England and visitors South Africa at Sophia Gardens on Thursday, 28th July has SOLD OUT!
Over 14k general sale tickets have been sold for the fixture with only single seats around the stadium now available to purchase and very limited premium ticket and hospitality space.
Head of operations, Dan Cherry, said: “Sophia Gardens has proven to be a very popular venue for international cricket, and we are proud to confirm we will have another capacity crowd for our IT20 match between England and South Africa.
"After the COVID restrictions in place last year during our international and Welsh Fire fixtures, it's particularly pleasing we will have a packed-out stadium once again.
“There is always an electric atmosphere when England play in Cardiff and with the quality of the opposition, we are expecting another thrilling match."
The Vitality IT20 is Sophia Gardens’ first major match of the summer, with the venue hosting four more in August when the second edition of The Hundred begins.
“For those who have missed out on the IT20 or want to return to Sophia Gardens, we host four Welsh Fire matches this summer.
“The Hundred teams are packed full of world-class cricketers who will have fans on the edge of their seats, and after the success of last year’s competition, this year promises to be even bigger and better.
“Tickets to see Welsh Fire in action are selling fast and I urge spectators to book now to avoid disappointment.”
Welsh Fire open their home campaign on Sunday, 7th August against Oval Invincibles with tickets available to purchase for the competition HERE.
