Leicestershire\'s Australian bowler Clint McKay said the visitors are on an even-keel going into the second day of the Specsavers County Championship match.
McKay took 6/73 from 20 overs on Day One, including the scalps of openers Jacques Rudolph and James Kettleborough to reduce Glamorgan to 25/2 and 133/5.
But despite a Glamorgan revival led by Graham Wagg, who scored 64 – as well as three other half-centuries from Chris Cooke, Will Bragg and David Lloyd – McKay thinks the teams are fairly level after a testing first day.
He said: "We think it's about even-par. The wicket is quite nice, there wasn't much sideways movement but it's a nice wicket to bat if you're patient, take your time and dig in.
"It was a long day and it wasn't the warmest – especially after coming from an Australian summer. But it was nice for us to get the 10 wickets today and hopefully put our feet up tomorrow and watch the batters bat all day."
Asked whether he thought Leicestershire could build a first innings lead by going past Glamorgan's 348, McKay said he had faith in the visitors' batting line-up.
He added: "We'll have to wait and see. They've got some quality bowlers in their team with Hogan, van der Gugten and Wagg and I'm sure it will be tough work tomorrow."
Leicestershire openers Pual Horton and Angus Robson will resume on 15/0 tomorrow morning at The SSE SWALEC, still 333 runs behind Glamorgan. Play begins at 11am.
