West Indies star Chris Gayle will not feature for Somerset against Glamorgan at The SSE SWALEC on Saturday after being given permission to leave the Club one game ahead of schedule.
Gayle had been set to make the final appearance of his stint in Cardiff but will now depart after Somerset's game against Surrey on Friday.
Tomorrow is going to be his last game as he is returning to the Caribbean Premier League, said Somerset Director of Cricket Matt Maynard.
He has been absolutely brilliant for us, and he asked to be released one match sooner. We have accepted that and hope that he will come back.
He has exceeded expectations - 328 runs is a good tournament for a lot of players, and he has done it in three games.
He has been incredible and he has surpassed what we expected. When he asked to miss the Cardiff game, we supported him.
Gayle's impact has been impressive with a personal tally of 328 runs in his three NatWest T20 Blast appearance for Somerset although he found himself on the losing side despite scoring 151 not out against Kent at Taunton.
