After a nail-biting two run loss to Somerset in the Royal London One-Day Cup, all-rounder David Lloyd admitted the defeat was 'hard to take."
Set 262 to win, Glamorgan seemed down and out at 41/6 before a spirited fightback from Lloyd and Graham Wagg and a tenth wicket stand of 57 between Timm van der Gugten and Lukas Carey took Glamorgan to within three runs of their target
After falling just short against Somerset, Lloyd praised the lower-order for their rearguard action but said top order runs were needed to reverse Glamorgan's fortunes.
"Everyone's pretty down in the changing room," said Lloyd. "Getting so close it's hard to take. The boys showed good character from the position we were. To get anywhere near their score was a good fight and something we can take into the next game.
"(The tail-enders) deserve a lot of credit but we can't rely on them to try and save us. It's always nice to get runs but, if we don't get the results. it's a bit irrelevant.
"We have to win all five to go through. It's a big ask but, once you get a first win, you can go on a roll.
"Somerset bowled very well and some guys may be short on confidence. The middle order and tail have shown we can keep fighting. But we can't lose two or three wickets in the first 10 and expect to win."
