Glam 2nd XI beat Warwicks 2nd XI in two T20s

Glamorgan 2nd XI had been scheduled to meet Warwickshire 2nd XI in their next Second Eleven Championship match, behind closed doors, at Spytty Park, Newport on 24-27 May. Unfortunately, rain and a saturated outfield led to the four-day contest being abandoned. In its place, two T20 fixtures took place on Thursday (May 27).

Glamorgan won the first game by six wickets after restricting an experienced Warwickshire batting line-up to 132-9 in their 20 overs. Spinners Prem Sisodiya and Callum Taylor each claimed a pair of wickets before opening batsman Steve Reingold led the run-chase with 38. Taylor also chipped in with an unbeaten 27 whilst James Weighell made an unbeaten 22 as Glamorgan eased to their target with fourteen balls to spare. The Welsh county were also victorious in the second game where batting first, Glamorgan amassed 178-4 in their 20 overs. After a quickfire 30 from 18 balls by Ruaidhri Smith, Nick Selman (53) and Tom Cullen (61*) each posted vibrant half-centuries and shared a productive second wicket stand to lay the foundations of what proved to be a match-winning total. Despite 40 from Dan Mousley, Warwickshire were never in the hunt, with Prem Sisodiya and Roman Walker each claiming a couple of wickets as the visitors reached 126-6 at the end of their quota to give Glmaorgan a rousing victory by 52 runs. You can view the scorecard of the second game by clicking here, courtesy once again of the PCS Pro scoring software.
