In all, Glamorgan have won 8 of their matches against Gloucestershire at Sophia Gardens and lost 7, with the results of their last six meetings at the Cardiff ground being:

3 Aug 2017 - Gloucestershire won by 5 runs (DLS Method)
3 Aug 2018 - Glamorgan won by 2 runs
1 Aug 2019 - Match Tied
18 Sept 2020 - Glamorgan won by 17 runs
10 June 2021 - Gloucestershire won by 4 runs
7 June 2022 - Gloucestershire won by five wickets

Gloucestershire have been victorious on their last two visits to Cardiff, including last summer when James Bracey made 63 as the visitors reached their target with an over to spare. The top score of the match though belonged to David Lloyd, whose 68 contained a delightful mix of the delicate and destructive as he posted a 31-ball fifty. In all, he hit a massive straight six plus 7 fours, three of which came in successive balls from David Payne and looked to be on course to become the first Glamorgan batter to score a hundred at Sophia Gardens in T20 cricket, but his hitherto faultless innings ended abruptly as he chipped a slower ball back to Benny Howell.

The match between the two teams in 2021 saw Marnus Labuschagne blast an unbeaten 93 from 56 balls, besides holding two fine catches in the deep. But his pyrotechnics with the bat were not enough to see the Welsh county home as they slipped to a four-run defeat against a Gloucestershire side for whom Glenn Phillips, Benny Howell and Graeme van Buuren all made important contributions with the bat,

In 2020 Glamorgan won by 17 runs after Andy Balbirnie made an unbeaten 99 as the Welsh county posted 201-6 - their highest-ever total against Gloucestershire in T20 cricket.
