Glamorgan meet Gloucestershire in their next group match in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, with the 50 overs contest taking place at Sophia Gardens on Wednesday, 16 August with play scheduled to get underway at 11.00am (writes Andrew Hignell).
After their stirring victory against the Sussex Sharks at Hove, Glamorgan have risen into fifth place in the table, with Gloucestershire’s record-breaking victory against Somerset in the West Country derby at Bristol on Sunday afternoon lifting them into third spot in the group table.
As the list below shows of the last six games between the two teams in List A cricket, Glamorgan were victorious in their last meeting, at Bristol in 2019 thanks to a brilliant 161 by Chris Cooke. Having steadily reached 50 from 66 balls, he upped the tempo by reaching 100 from his next 33 deliveries, and then on to 150 from the next 21 balls striking, in all, 8 sixes.

Gloucestershire had been victorious in the corresponding game at Sophia Gardens in 2018 when Chris Liddle claimed for wickets before George Hankins struck 85 and Chris Dent 80 to see the West Country side to an eight-wicket victory.
However, Glamorgan had won the previous two List A encounters in 2017 and 2016. In the former, the Welsh county won at Bristol by 18 runs with Jacques Rudolph making 121 before Colin Ingram took 3/39 with his leg-spin. The contest at Cardiff in June 2016 also saw Glamorgan defeat Gloucestershire who, at the time, were the reigning Cup holders. A fine 75 from Will Bragg saw Glamorgan to a competitive total of 289 before Graham Wagg and Timm van der Gugten made their way through the visitor’s batting line-up as the Welsh county eased to victory by 52 runs.
