The 2018 Glamorgan Yearbook was published last night to coincide with the Club’s AGM held at The SSE SWALEC.
The ever-popular Yearbook, which was first published back in 1933, looks back on events at domestic and international level during the past twelve months and a summer when Glamorgan reached Finals Day of the NatWest T20 Blast, besides successfully hosting international matches, including a series of matches in the ICC Champions Trophy. There is a feature celebrating the six-hitting prowess of Colin Ingram and a special tribute to retiring captain Jacques Rudolph.
As always, the Glamorgan Yearbook also looks back on other milestones and centenaries in the Club’s long and proud history, with the Flashback series looking at events in 1948 and 1968, plus a special photographic section celebrating the 50th anniversary of county cricket at Sophia Gardens and a tribute to the late Paul Russell who masterminded the development of The SSE SWALEC.
The Yearbook also contains special tributes to Don Shepherd and John Derrick who each passed away during the course of the past year, as well as other former players and officers of the Club, including Hugh Davies who have also died during the past twelve months. As always, the Yearbook also reflects on events in the Glamorgan 2nd XI and the Wales Minor Counties side, besides looking at the success of the community schemes run by Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket in nurturing the future generation of Welsh cricketers. Together with a comprehensive set of records and statistics for all competitions, the 2018 Glamorgan Yearbook remains the perfect companion for supporters of cricket in Wales.
