With the Club's AGM taking place tonight, the 2024 Glamorgan Yearbook has been published today (28 March) and is now available for purchase.
This is an historic edition of the popular Yearbook as it is the first-ever to have a photograph of a women cricketer on the front cover. First published in 1933, the first edition of the Yearbook to have a photograph on the front cover was in 1986. The 2024 edition includes an image of Tammy Beaumont who, last summer, almost led the Welsh Fire Women to Finals Day of The Hundred besides scoring the inaugural hundred for a women’s team in the 100-ball tournament at Sophia Gardens.
Tammy therefore shares pride of place on the cover of the 2024 Glamorgan Yearbook alongside Chris Cooke who, last summer, struck the fastest century on record for the Welsh county – during the Vitality Blast T20 match against Middlesex at Merchant Taylor’s School - and celebrates taking a Testimonial this year.
The Yearbook also pays tribute to Hugh Morris, the Club’s retiring Chief Executive, as well as a review of the international games held at Sophia Gardens during 2023 plus an overview of the performances by the Welsh Fire Men and Women in The Hundred. Together with a comprehensive records section for all formats of 1st and 2nd XI cricket, the 2024 Yearbook also contains match reports and scorecards of all the games which Glamorgan staged last summer as well as details about the matches played by the Club’s 2nd XI, plus Wales National County
As always, the Yearbook has a comprehensive listing of Club records and player statistics, and a range of interesting articles looking back on events in 2023. The price of the Yearbook is £20 and you can purchase a copy:
