Glamorgan players are plying their trade across the globe from Bangladesh, Port Elizabeth, Sydney and next week in New Zealand as well.
As Glamorgan Coach Robert Croft jetted out to South Africa earlier this week, we'll start the round-up there. Croft will be with the England team when they travel to Port Elizabeth for the second ODI of the five-match series and he's hoping to be able to have a catch up with batsman Colin Ingram.
Colin's Warriors team who he captains have had three scheduled first-class fixtures in 2016, but the first game away at Pietermaritzburg was lost without a ball being bowled. The Warriors find themselves bottom of the league without yet recording a win - with the two games they have managed to play in 2016 ending in defeat at Paarl with the Cape Cobras winning by 148 runs in mid-January, before the Knights triumphed by 4 wickets at East London last week. The most recent game did at least see Ingram return to form with the bat scoring 89 and pinching a couple of wickets, but it was not enough.
The Warriors are back in action today playing the Lions in Johannesburg in the Momentum One-Day Cup, a format that seems to suit them far better as they are joint top of the six-team league at the half way stage. The Warriors finish January against Jacques Rudolph's home team the Titans in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. Two victories would see them in a very strong position to progress.
Rudolph himself had a successful start to his stint in the Masters Champions League T20 being played in Dubai and Sharjah, with his team the Gemini Arabians winning in comprehensive fashion against a Libra Legends team that featured Jacques Kallis and Marcus North. Such was the dominance of the Arabians, Rudolph didnt get a bat in the first outing after the big hitting Hodge and Kemp were promoted up the order to good effect to take advantage of the early work done by Levi and Sangakarra.
A few of other former Glamorgan players are in action today in the new T20 competition with James Frankilin and Herschelle Gibbs playing for the Leo Lions whilst Alviro Petersen is in the Sagittarius Strikers side.
England have won their opening two games at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh with confident victories against minnows Fiji and West Indies this morning setting them up for a quarter-final spot with one game to go in the group against Zimbabwe. Aneurin Donald hasn't been selected for either game.
Donald left Australia to join up with England in Dubai before traveling on to Bangladesh, and left behind James Kettleborough, Andrew Salter and Owen Morgan who are playing club cricket in Australia, with Salter hitting his maiden century on Aussie soil for Blacktown Cricket against Penrith ten days ago.
Over in WA, Michael Hogan has been selected in the Western Australia squad to play New South Wales in the sixth round of the Sheffield Shield. Hogan is in line for his first competitive action since early December, due to the break for the Big Bash and he needs only one more wicket to reach the milestone of 200 in Sheffield Shield competition. Regardless the game is sure to be remembered as the first Shield match to be played in New Zealand, with the fixture starting on Wednesday being hosted at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, in Lincoln.
