Glamorgan County Cricket Club is encouraging supporters attending next Friday's first NatWest T20 Blast home game against Sussex at the SWALEC Stadium, to show their support for the club by 'Backin' the Blue'.
The Club is asking fans to wear an item of blue clothing or blue fancy dress in support of the team, as part of a fun initiative designed to create a fantastic Friday night atmosphere.
Supporters are welcome to wear as much, or as little, blue as they like, however, there will be a competition for the best outfit of the day with two NatWest T20 Blast season tickets up for grabs.
The passes will give the winner access to all of Glamorgan's 2014 T20 Blast home games at the SWALEC Stadium.
Hugh Morris, Glamorgan Chief Executive, said: We returned to our retro shirt last year for our 125
th anniversary and the team enjoyed great success in reaching the Lord's final in these colours. Due to the popularity of the kit, we've retained it for this season and we're encouraging our supporters to wear blue for the NatWest T20 Blast, starting with the first match against Sussex Sharks in Cardiff on 30
th May.
It would be amazing if the crowd could be a sea of blue - it would give the team an added boost to see such an effort being made by supporters and would help create a fantastic atmosphere at the SWALEC for the first game.
Glamorgan will also be running a social media campaign as part of the 'Backin' the Blue' theme, starting with a 'guess who?' competition to identify the Glamorgan player dressed in a blue morph suit.
Glamorgan beat Hampshire in their first match of the NatWest T20 Blast competition and will be playing their first home game of the season against Sussex on Friday 30
th May at 6.30pm. Tickets are available online at
www.glamorgancricket.com or from the Ticket office on 02920 419 311.
