Day Two Report

Glamorgan's batsmen enjoyed the better of the morning's play at the ICC Academy in Dubai with Kiran Carlson and Jack Murphy continuing their productive third wicket partnership. Murphy eventually retired on 67 with Carlson departing for 46, before David Lloyd and Aneurin Donald spent time in the middle with a flurry of boundaries from the latter, as Glamorgan declared on 210/4 after 60 overs.

Lancashire then batted for a further 30 overs, during which Karl Brown and Steven Croft made half-centuries before retiring. Ruaidhri Smith, Andrew Salter and David Lloyd each claimed a wicket before Glamorgan batted again for the final 30 overs with Lancashire 146 runs ahead. Salter then put bat to ball making 49 from 72 balls, hitting 6 fours and a six, before Craig Meschede was stumped shortly afterwards. With Chris Cooke and Nick Selman having also departed earlier in the innings, David Lloyd and Connor Brown then joined forces for the closing overs. Brown departed in the penultimate over as Glamorgan ended on 90/5.

Day One Report

Glamorgan complete their pre-season tour of Dubai with a two-day friendly against Lancashire. After Lancashire had opted to bat, Lukas Carey delivered a frugal opening spell in tandem with Timm van der Gugten, and it was the Dutchman who claimed the first wicket as Karl Brown departed l.b.w. in the tenth over. The change bowlers, Michael Hogan and Graham Wagg, also kept things tight and with the total on 43, the Glamorgan red ball captain removed Rob Jones thanks to a catch by David Lloyd with Lancashire reaching 74/2 at lunch.

Shortly after lunch, van der Gugten claimed a second wicket as he dismissed Steven Croft in the 34th over, but Haseeb Hameed remained resolute and posted a century. But later in the afternoon session he was snared by David Lloyd, with Carey completing the catch before Lancashire declared on 215/4 after 60 overs. Glamorgan lost an early wicket as Nick Selman was caught behind in the third over, delivered by Tom Bailey, but there were few alarms as Connor Brown and Jack Murphy took the total to 55 before Brown was bowled by Chris Sanders.

Murphy then received solid support from Kiran Carlson as he completed a 90-ball fifty with Glamorgan ending the day on 109/2 after 30 overs.
