Glamorgan welcome Hampshire this Friday in the next round of the NatWest T20 Blast, looking to bounce back after the disappointment of the defeat to Essex Eagles last week, which was in stark contrast to the joy over the Oval in the opening round of fixtures.
We had a great start first game up at Surrey to beat them on their own patch, so we hoped for better than we saw against Essex said Radford.
We wanted to come here in the first game at the SWALEC and put on a good performance, but we were under par and didn't score enough runs against Essex.
Despite the disappointment of the game, looking back on the season so far, Radford has been encouraged by the performances throughout the whole squad with many stepping up to the plate with vital contributions. With Glamorgan unbeaten until the Essex game, Radford has high hopes for Glamorgan in the T20 blast this year.
Up until this game against Essex we were unbeaten and we've gone well, so to go until almost the end of May without a defeat is great, four draws and a win in the championship and we had a lot of contributors in the last game out. T20 is a form we want to do well in, there's a good buzz about the place at home games, and we were close to finals day last year and the plan this year is to try and go one stage further.
Hampshire head to Cardiff on the back of a five wicket defeat to Kent Spitfires and will be hoping to return to Hampshire with the points in the bag. Radford however hopes that his Glamorgan side will be too strong and bounce back to winning ways in spectacular style at the Swalec on Friday night.
We will come back against Hampshire, we want to put on a better performance and we want to get a win said Radford.
We've played two, won one lost one, the first game we've lost this season so that's a bit disappointing for us, but we'll come back I'm sure with a bang.
Hampshire and Glamorgan come into the game boasting identical records in this year's competition having won one and lost one. Radford is well aware of the threat Hampshire pose and acknowledges that his side will have to be at their best, especially with the talent Hampshire possess.
Hampshire are a good side, there's no easy hiding place in this group there's some really good teams.
So we've got to be up for every game and give our best.
The squad also hopes to be boosted with the news of Wayne Parnell's return from injury to make his Glamorgan debut.
We're looking forward to seeing Wayne Parnell fit and ready to play for the club, Radford said, obviously Hogan's our quickest bowler at the moment but we'd love Parny to be fit to partner him.
Radford was also optimistic of the return of all-rounder Ben Wright for the game who missed last week's defeat and hopes his return will add extra fire power to the batting line up.
Ben Wright was missed in the batting line-up so I hope he's back as well said Radford. Get a few of these injuries sorted and I think that'll help us.
