Limited Overs Head Coach Mark Alleyne has named a 14-man squad for our Vitality Blast fixture against Middlesex.
The Welsh travel to Middlesex for their third Vitality Blast match of the summer and will play at Merchant Taylor’s School against the London-based County.
Glamorgan come into the fixture on the back of one win and one loss against their local rivals, Gloucestershire and Somerset respectively.
After a thrilling victory against Gloucestershire in the Battle of the Bridge, Glamorgan suffered a loss at the hands of their west-country counterparts at Taunton.
There is one change to the squad, as Callum Taylor replaces Ben Kellaway who misses out due to University exams
The Welsh County will look to take a winning record back to Sophia Gardens later in the week as they take on Middlesex.
Middlesex have lost all three of their fixtures so far this campaign, including a loss to Gloucestershire at the same outground just yesterday.
View from the camp – Mark Alleyne
"Obviously, I'm disappointed, because I thought we'd started well enough with the bat to get ourselves over the line.
“Our total fell shy of what was needed to make us competitive. There are things to work on, but I still feel we have enough to be able to win games like this against good sides like Somerset.
“We have to pick ourselves up ready for Middlesex now, and hopefully head into our first home game at a packed Sophia Gardens with another win under our belts.
Head-to-Head – Middlesex vs Glamorgan
This will be Glamorgan’s first-ever T20 game at the school ground in Northwood with, as the list below shows, the Welsh county having played all of their previous away games in the competition against Middlesex at either Richmond or Radlett.
14 June 2011 at Richmond - Glamorgan won by 4 wickets
3 July 2014 at Richmond - Glamorgan won by 6 wickets
8 July 2016 at Richmond - Glamorgan won by 9 wickets
5 August 2018 at Richmond - Glamorgan won by 7 wickets
27 June 2021 at Radlett - Middlesex won by 7 wickets
29 May 2022 at Radlett - Middlesex won by 4 wickets
Max Holden and Joe Cracknell saw Middlesex to victory last year at Radlett with the latter thumping 47 from 28 balls before being bowled by Marnus Labuschagne, who had entered the attack in the 17th over. Despite some equally lusty hitting by Dan Douthwaite and James Weighell, it was Middlesex who won at Radlett in 2021 with Stevie Eskinazi scoring an unbeaten 91 to see Middlesex home by seven wickets.
