Head coach Matt Maynard has named a 15-man squad for the next two Vitality Blast fixtures.
Glamorgan face Essex Eagles at Sophia Gardens tomorrow in the opening home match of their T20 campaign, before travelling to Taunton to face local rivals, Somerset, the next day (3rd June).
The Welsh county currently have one win from their opening three matches. They defeated the Sussex Sharks by seven wickets at Hove but suffered narrow defeats to both Surrey and Middlesex and currently sit in fifth place in the South Group.
Batter Eddie Byrom returns to the squad after injury and has been in good form for the 2nd XI, striking 30* and 46 in the two games he has played in the 2nd XI T20 Competition.
Michael Hogan will make his first appearance at Sophia Gardens since becoming the Club’s all-time leading wicket-taker in the format. He has nine wickets in the campaign and is currently the top wicket-taker in the Blast.
View from the camp – Matt Maynard
We have had a road trip now and that can be quite tough on the body, but the schedule is the schedule. We do play a lot of cricket and we have to expect to have that. We have a big enough squad to rotate and rest if we needed to.
I think we are very close to that magic formula. I said that to the lads in the dressing room at Radlett and I think we are really close. We just need to get those batting partnerships working slightly better together, and for longer in the innings.
We need them to take it a little deeper and not necessarily think this next ball has to go out the park, and try and bat as deep as we possibly can, as we did at Sussex.”
Head-to-head – Glamorgan vs Essex Eagles

As the list below shows of their last six meetings in T20 cricket at Cardiff, the Eagles have not beaten Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens since June 2016 when 42 by Jesse Ryder and 41 from Tom Westley saw the visitors to a seven-wicket victory.
