With the 2019 domestic season finished, a number of Glamorgan’s players are heading overseas during the winter months to continue their cricketing careers.

Timm van der Gugten has been selected by the Netherlands national side for the T20 World Cup qualifiers out in UAE, and is currently playing a key role with the ball for the side as they sit 3rd in Group A. He played a part in their 2014 and 2016 campaigns as well as their qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup, and carries an impressive record, averaging 22.44 in IT20s at an economy rate of 7.27. With 34 IT20 wickets in his career, he can count Eoin Morgan, Brendan McCullum, Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill, and JP Duminy amongst his victims.

Colin Ingram finished the summer off in the Caribbean Premier League, and has entered the draft for the PSL. He had withdrawn from the BBL to spend more time with his family, but is available for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Charlie Hemphrey will be representing Queensland during the Australian domestic season, having been re-called in mid-August to prepare for their Marsh One-Day Cup and Sheffield Shield tournaments. He did not appear in the opening rounds of List A games, but did score a half-century against South Australia, playing alongside Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja.

As is the case with plenty of counties around the country, a tranche of young players will be heading out to Australia to prove themselves in Grade cricket, playing against professionals and internationals throughout the country.

Nick Selman will join the Sunshine Coast Scorchers in his native Queensland for their Grade competitions. The opener has been a part of the Scorchers for the best part of a decade, playing against players like Charlie Hemphrey and Marnus Labuschagne. Tom Cullen will turn out for his hometown club Melville CC, Perth, where he played as junior, having previously played for Lindfield in Sydney, while Lukas Carey will join up with Glamorgan teammate Charlie Hemphrey at Sandgate-Redcliffe Cricket Club in Brisbane for his first stint in Grade cricket.
