Glamorgan selectors have named a 14-man squad for the upcoming Vitality Blast home game against Hampshire Hawks
Glamorgan had strong performances in their last two away games, with a win at Lord's featuring contributions from Sam Northeast, Kiran Carlson, Mason Crane, and Timm van der Gugten and an amazing comeback by the bowlers. This was followed by a narrow loss at Chelmsford with Mason Crane and Marnus Labuschagne starring with the ball. Colin Ingram registered his maiden 50 of the season in the same match.
Glamorgan are currently 5th in the points table and looking to take on Hampshire Hawks, who are 7th with the same number of wins and losses. The points table is tightly contested in the middle, and a win against Hampshire would move Glamorgan into the top 4.
There have been two changes to the squad: Harry Podmore was injured last week at Chelmsford and will sit out due to concussion regulations, and Mason Crane is unavailable to play against Hampshire because of loan rules.
James Harris and Will Smale return to the squad. Smale scored a half-century (69 off 42) on 11 June for Glamorgan 2nd XI in their 35-run win against Northamptonshire 2nd XI.
The full squad is as follows:
05/ Kiran Carlson (C)
97/ Eddie Byrom
16/ Sam Northeast
41/ Colin Ingram
33/ Marnus Labuschagne
46/ Chris Cooke (WK)
88/ Dan Douthwaite
13/ Tom Bevan
28/ Will Smale
64/ Timm van der Gugten
35/ Jamie McIlroy
08/ Ben Kellaway

09/ James Harris

“As a squad, we are all looking forward to showtime at home on Thursday with double-header action. Confidence is high within the group as we build upon some quality performances and look to fine-tune areas where we haven’t yet been at our best.
“T20 comes with fine margins, and we have been reminded that there can’t be any flat spots during the fast-paced 240 events of a T20 match.
“Squad depth is building as our 2s have cleverly positioned a lot of T20 into their schedule alongside the Vitality Blast, and it’s great to see a number of players now at the required level to perform for Glamorgan.”
