Glamorgan register a 7-wicket victory in the NCCA Showcase Game

It was a day for the debutants as Asa Tribe and Tom Norton helped Glamorgan to a 7-wicket victory in the NCCA Showcase game against Wiltshire County Cricket Club.

The visitors finished on 283/3 after 39 overs, Tribe top scoring with 93 unbeaten off 90 balls.  He marked his First Team debut with a confident innings including a six and 12 fours.

Tribe was ably supported by Tom Bevan with 65 off 62 balls including 9 boundaries, and Billy Root who finished on 32 not out off 36 balls.

Wiltshire ended on a competitive total of 236 all out, leaving Glamorgan chasing 237 to win. Dylan Church posted the home team’s top score with 56 off 87 balls.

Ben Morris struck for the visitors’ first wicket, bowling Mynott for 13, and went on to take 3 more, returning figures of 4-57.

Tom Norton then picked up his first wicket for the First Team, Goodwin caught by Will Smale for a duck. Norton then bowled Young for 2, finishing with figures of 2-40 on debut.

Vice-captain Andy Gorvin also returned figures of 2-40, while Tom Bevan and Jamie McIlroy took a wicket apiece.
