Glamorgan sign Craig Miles on loan from Warwickshire

Glamorgan are delighted to announce that we have signed experienced seamer, Craig Miles, on a one-month loan deal from Warwickshire.

29-year-old Miles will be available for our first three Vitality County Championship fixtures and will join up with the squad ahead of our trip to Lord's on Friday.

Miles, who played for our cross-bridge rivals Gloucestershire before his switch to Warwickshire, has taken 344 wickets at an average of 28 in first-class cricket.

The right-arm seamer will add depth to our bowling attack as Timm van der Gugten recovers from a calf injury. He stands tall at the crease at 6ft 4ins, hits the deck hard, and will be a handful for all batters in early-April conditions.

Head Coach, Grant Bradburn, on Miles’ signing, said: “We are pleased to strengthen our squad depth with the addition of Craig Miles on loan from Warwickshire. Craig’s experience and first-class record will provide a huge boost to our squad as we look to begin a new era of success for Glamorgan.”

Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, added: “It’s great to be able to add someone of Craig's experience to our seam attack for the start of the season. We’re grateful to Warwickshire for allowing us to take him on loan and look forward to him running in for Glamorgan.”

Craig Miles said: “I am really looking forward to the opportunity of playing some red-ball cricket at the start of the season, and to be able to get some miles under my belt.

“I have very fond memories of playing Glamorgan, and I am sure that I will have more banter with the fans like we did down at Neath last year. This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am excited to help the Club push their vision forward.

“I’m feeling good, fit, and ready to go. I feel like I’ve found a good rhythm and my body is strong. I’m looking forward to the challenge and, as we know in cricket, things can change quickly.”
