Head Coach Robert Croft has named a 12-man squad for his side’s day-night Specsavers County Championship clash with Sussex at Hove.
Glamorgan Pathway players Connor Brown, Jack Murphy and Nick Selman all return to the first team after missing out so far in the Vitality Blast.
It’s only the third game Glamorgan will have played under lights with the pink ball and captain Michael Hogan believes his men will have to adapt quickly after playing white-ball cricket for the last month.
“We’re looking to improve there’s no question because we can improve a lot in certain areas”, said Hogan.
“We want to win every game we play, it’s as simple as that,” added Hogan. “We may be forced into changes through injuries unfortunately but it’s an opportunity for young talent to come through and strut their stuff on the first-class stage.”
Prior to the beginning of the Vitality Blast campaign, Usman Khawaja had been in sensational form for the Welsh county in the Specsavers County Championship. The Australian test star became the first Glamorgan batsman to score a century in his first three Championship matches, and Hogan can see no reason why Khawaja cannot extend the record.
“Well we hope so, he’s on fire in the championship. He’s in good touch and played well again [against Somerset] so it would be a fantastic achievement for him. He’s a class player so hopefully he can get four on the trot, but why not five?”
